Bruges MCC tops out

A May Milestone has been hit in the construction of the Bruges Meeting and Convention Centre (BMCC), where construction of the top floor is well underway at the Beursplein (Old Stock Exchange Square) site. The contours of the building are already clearly visible, and a tree was recently placed atop the new building to celebrate the topping out. The venue management reports structural works are now complete and the focus is now on the interior works with a completion timeframe of autumn 2021 for the building. The BMCC is expected to be up and running for business by January 2022. “We are already receiving a lot of requests from interested event organisers,” says Sarah Cornand (pictured right), director of BMCC. To celebrate the latest topping out milestone, the City of Bruges has produced a video guided tour of the building. You can watch it here. There is also a new website, which lists all the services the new BMCC has to offer. The BMCC will offer 4,500sqm of meetings space on the ground floor, while the upper floors will be able to facilitate meetings and conferences from between 10 to 514 participants.
