Mash Media joins Millennium Point debate on the future of UK events

Birmingham’s Millennium Point brought together leading representatives from across the events industry and beyond at Talking Point: The Future of Events, to discuss trends and the outlook for the industry. The event, which took place in-person and online on 26 May, not only touched upon the events industry’s recovery from the pandemic, but also the growing demand for sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Paul Colson, managing editor of Mash Media’s Conference & Meetings World magazine, spoke on the panel Events & Hospitality: Roadmap to Recovery. Other panellists included: Rebecca Delmore, commercial director at Millennium Point; Jo Parkin, executive assistant to CEO of Alpro; and Chris Peacock, co-founder of Conference Care agency. Colson spoke about the hurdles that in-person events will have to tackle in the coming months: “The restrictions on travel will obviously be a barrier, the results of which will be destinations that are open will be expensive.
