Business Events Perth has announced that the capital of Western Australia will be the host city for the 49th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves 2024 (IRMMW-THz 2024). The conference is held annually, and IRMMW-THz 2024 will mark 12 years since the world’s largest gathering devoted to the field of ultra-high frequency electronics and applications was last held in Australia. It is estimated that the event will deliver more than AUS$3min (US$2.2m) direct economic contribution to the Western Australian economy. Organisers predict the conference will bring 600 delegates from around the world to attend the six-day event. The bid was led by associate professor Vincent Wallace from The University of Western Australia in partnership with Business Events Perth, global PCO Arinex and Tourism Australia which offered support through its Business Events Bid Fund Programme.
